Eri is a Certified National Level Coach who started Judo in Japan alongside her younger sister, Maya, who is also a black belt. Eri’s dad was on the 1984 US Olympic Judo Team, and her uncle is a sixth degree black belt.

She has many years of experience with kids of all ages through SportJudo, as well as through nannying. She is at the dojo six days a week and dedicates her time to our SportJudo family.

As a competitor, some of her notable achievements include:

Gold — 2018 USA Judo National President’s Cup

Gold — 2019 Senior Nationals (brown belt division)

Bronze — 2019 Junior Olympic Championships

After her time as a competitor, Eri is now focused on passing on her knowledge and mentoring the female competitors by building a safe and encouraging learning atmosphere. She is also one of the coaches for the Anklebiter class (4-6 year olds) alongside Coach Steve.
